LRAC Seeks Artists with a Collaborative Vision

Lake Region Arts Council invites pairs of area artists to submit proposals for its next juried exhibition, titled “Artists Collaborative Vision.” The exhibition, which will be on display in LRAC’s Main Gallery, will run January 8 – March 14, 2024.

The deadline to submit proposals is 5:00 pm on October 30, 2023.

The Gallery Committee will jury the call for art. Selected artists will be notified by November 13th, 2023.

This competition is open to artists from LRAC’s nine-county service region, which includes Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin in west central Minnesota.

Exploring the Creative Potential of Collaboration

For this special installation, artists working in any medium are challenged to pair up and submit a proposal with their vision of installation art that will transform the LRAC Main Gallery space into a unique visual experience. The use of materials is open and the full gallery space is available for the installation. Artists are urged to imagine nontraditional ways to use the gallery space, lighting and street presence of the Gallery in a new way.

How to Submit a Proposal

Artist teams can submit up to three pieces of art for consideration by completing the online application. In the artist statement section, please explain what your collaboration will be in the gallery. Artists submitting to Lake Region Arts Council for the first time will need to create an account; returning applicants should use their previous credentials to log on.

For inspiration, visit the Main Gallery in person or online to get a sense of the space and how a collaborative vision can come to life there.
